Jellyship is our submission for the “Calm Before the Storm” Brackey’s 2024 Game Jam.
Jellyship is a top-down survival action game where players steer their boat through two distinct phases of the ocean: the calm and the storm. During the calm phase, you will gather resources like food and construction materials from floating debris to prepare for the impending storm. Collect the coins that float by, and ferry them to their destination!

Objective

Survive until you get to your destination! Here are your responsibilities…

  • You must have 30 coins in the container before you arrive at the destination so you can pay your dues.
  • Convert debris into money! Can't afford the trip? Those strange pineapples at sea might be worth something...
  • Keep your flag raised if you notice it is low! This will keep your ship at full speed.
  • While there are holes in your ship, your ship’s health will slowly drain. Keep the ship repaired at all costs!
  • Drop other items into the money container to convert them into money!
  • Poor Squiz gets tired! Make sure not to spend too much time off the ship, or you will drown. Swim against the ship to automatically board!
